Same Time Next Year, Now

by Jennifer on March 15, 2016

Last year, while scrolling through my Twitter feed, I came across a tweet, which I have paraphrased below:

“Resilience is not success. Success is not having the same problems next year that you have now.”

To say this quote affected me would be an understatement.  In many ways, it has become part of my true north, my touchstone.  I use it to evaluate my life on a weekly, if not daily, basis.  Does this mean my life is always moving forward and in the right direction? Absolutely not.  However, since I have been using this question as a barometer of success, the overall trajectory of my life has moved much closer to the life I want to be leading.  I know the steps I take today, this week, this month, and the next eleven months will enable me to fulfill that definition of success.

So now I ask you: has your life progressed the way you want it to in the last week? last month? last year? If it hasn’t changed much or gone in the direction of your desires, what is one step you could take today that would different from the step you took yesterday?  The way you start preparing for the same time next year is now, one step at a time.

If you want assistance and a partner to join you while you take those steps, please contact me so we can set up a time to talk.
